Arrive early if you want to take advantage of the free horse and cart ride as it seems to fill up quickly, but the roads are wide and walkable.

This living museum is lovely. The quality of the acting is just marvelous. Most of the buildings are not wheelchair accessible, so plan on doing a lot of just walking around if you can't lift your wheelchair user.

There is no food or drink in the museum proper but there is a great shade-filled picnic area and a small food service area before you cross into the historic village. We brought our own picnic so I didn't see the prices but the food itself looked like it was great quality and healthy (meal sized salad with beets and cheese).

If you plan on going more than once get a membership to the "friends society"- $50 for a family- and you can go back any time. It costs $40 for one family admission so it's a great value.

The tour of the locked buildings was the most fantastic, the guide who helped us through there has many stories and was quite edycational.

A really fun and engaging experience. Far larger than it seems. The folks really make the most of the space, and have a lot of buildings with great actors who can answer pretty well any question you have with certainty. I was also impressed with the gift shop and large selection of authentic cuisine. If you have Ukrainian cultural heritage and are interested in learning more, or are simply interested in history, I would highly recommend the heritage village.

The costumed interpreters were quite educational, though they did not volunteer their information. At times it was hard to find what questions they wanted to be asked to solicit more information, it would have been nice if they offered it. Some of the characters seemed to prefer not to interact at all.

It is a great place. But food could be better. It is not even close to Ukrainian Authentic food, really not tasty. I am bought a kasha salad with buckwheat and get just regular salad without it. When i asked ' where is my buckwheat? - they gave me uncooked seeds... Am I a bird??? ' But maybe someone like it. The girl at cash register told me that she never tried this food... so how you can sale it? But it is not most important thing. Museum is really nice and actors are really good. Really recommend to visit this place.

Loved our visit here! Churches, homes, businesses etc. We're moved here from other Alberta locales. Authentic! Lovely grounds with a nice food area which is shaded by trees. Lots to see. The only thing missing is an actual sit down restaurant to eat at. Would like that. Great, enjoyable day. Highly recommended!!

Bring your own snacks and water bottles as the concession was quite limited and pricey.
